my name is kayla
Award winning and nationally published photographer based in Arizona and Southern California — serving couples + brands worldwide. I’ve been a photographer for the past 9 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
At any given moment, chances are high that I’m either at the dog beach with my doodle (shameless dog mom over here), practicing a new yoga pose, checking off a spot on my bucket list, hosting a dinner party or teaching other photographers at Let Light In Workshop.
I am for the client who isn’t afraid to get a little messy, rejects traditional and cares more about the authentic moments than the posed. Capturing those candid moments between you and your loved ones is what gets my heart beating fastest. If this sounds like your jam, let's make some magic!

At first thought, my inspiration comes from all sorts of places — the latest tv series, song lyrics, dreams, colors, films, space. But when I really dig deep, the answer is simple. I’m inspired by the everyday moments. Taking a walk in the park, receiving a smile from a stranger, watching the way the colors of the sunset change or an act of kindness. It’s in those quiet moments of being fully present and witnessing real life that I am most inspired.
This might be why I love to travel so much. For the pure fact that it forces you to be fully immersed in these everyday moments in a brand new place. Heightened awareness of what’s going on around you. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Witnessing first hand a completely different culture and way of living. I always come back from a trip filled to the brim with ideas and floating on cloud 9.

My overall photography style can be described as a mix between documentary and a moment creator. What this means is that my main goal is to capture moments exactly as they happen and your relationship in it’s truest form, while putting my own artistic spin on it. Documenting all of those authentic and raw emotions will bring you back to how that day really felt.
I will be there to guide you every step of the way. I’m not into the super pose-y shots or making you do something that is just totally not you. I want your photos to not ever feel forced and to reflect who you really are. All I ask is that you remain present and soak in every moment. I’ll do the rest.
