Award winning and nationally published photographer based in Arizona and Southern California — serving couples + brands worldwide. I’ve been a photographer for the past 8 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
At any given moment, chances are high that I’m either at the dog beach with my doodle (shameless dog mom over here), practicing a new yoga pose, checking off a spot on my bucket list, hosting a dinner party or teaching other photographers at Let Light In Workshop.
I serve the client who isn’t afraid to get a little messy, rejects traditional and cares more about the authentic moments than the posed. Capturing those candid moments between you and your loved ones is what gets my heart beating fastest. If this sounds like your jam, let's make some magic!
At first thought, my inspiration comes from all sorts of places — the latest tv series, song lyrics, dreams, colors, films, space. But when I really dig deep, the answer is simple. I’m inspired by the everyday moments. Taking a walk in the park, receiving a smile from a stranger, watching the way the colors of the sunset change or an act of kindness. It’s in those quiet moments of being fully present and witnessing real life that I am most inspired.
This might be why I love to travel so much. For the pure fact that it forces you to be fully immersed in these everyday moments in a brand new place. Heightened awareness of what’s going on around you. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Witnessing first hand a completely different culture and way of living. I always come back from a trip filled to the brim with ideas and floating on cloud 9.
+ Chick-fil-a is my love language
+ To-do lists are my jam (where my virgos at!?)
+ My toxic trait is watching the bachelor while simultaneously saying I’ll never watch it again
+ Running a non-profit and photographing wildlife assignments for Nat Geo are some of my life goals
+ I'm a firm believer that sushi dates are the best kind of dates
+ Schitts Creek and New Girl are constantly on repeat in my house
+ I'm all about bringing people together - hosting dinner parties, get togethers, meet ups, trips. You name it, I'll host it!
My overall photography style can be described as a mix between documentary and a moment creator. What this means is that my main goal is to capture moments exactly as they happen and your relationship in it’s truest form, while putting my own artistic spin on it. Documenting all of those authentic and raw emotions will bring you back to how that day really felt.
I will be there to guide you every step of the way. I’m not into the super pose-y shots or making you do something that is just totally not you. I want your photos to not ever feel forced and to reflect who you really are. All I ask is that you remain present and soak in every moment. I’ll do the rest.
"We couldn’t have chosen a better photographer to capture our special day. The whole experience from the beginning to end with Kayla was organized, professional and simple. So thankful to have made that decision to have her as our photographer."
"Kayla was by far the best investment we made for our wedding. She captured genuine moments as well as all those special details we spent so many hours on. We can forever relive our very favorite day through her photography. "
"The combination of her talent with her fun, loving personality is unmatched. I could go on and on - she is talented beyond words, has such a quick turn around of quality work, communicates fast, and is as sweet as they come"
"If you are looking for a wedding photographer who is extremely professional, kind, and passionate, don’t even think twice about hiring Kayla. I have these photos printed in our house and every time I look at them, I think of all the memories we made that day."
A road trip through the most beautiful areas in Utah, glamping at Under Canvas, using my rooftop tent for the first time - it doesn't get much better than this.
We spent a few weeks traveling through the castle towns of Germany and eating all of the croissants across France. Here's a glimpse into our time there.
A glimpse into my two weeks of travel in Thailand. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart.
